Overview
Welcome to the Astreo documentation. Learn how to set up Astreo, use it as a team and integrate it via the APIs.
What is Astreo?
Astreo is a web-based email client for teams. Several people jointly run mailboxes like
info@, support@ or sales@ — with clear ownership instead of CC chaos:
conversations get assigned, discussed internally and answered together.
Important: Astreo is a client, not an email provider. Your mailboxes stay where they are (Gmail, Microsoft or any IMAP mailbox) — Astreo simply connects them and lays the team workflow on top. There is nothing to migrate, and your address doesn't change.
Key concepts
- Mailbox (account): a connected email address (e.g.
support@company.com). You can connect as many as you like. - Thread (conversation): a related exchange of several messages — the unit you work with day to day.
- Assignment: a thread gets an owner. "Assigned to me" shows each person exactly their tasks.
- Internal note: a comment right on the thread that only the team sees — never the sender.
- Tag: a label to structure threads, personal or for the whole team.
Who is Astreo for?
For small and medium teams that jointly run central addresses — support, sales, office, accounting. Astreo runs GDPR-compliant in the EU, is open-core and can also be self-hosted. Individual users equally benefit from multi-account, filters, templates and AI assistance.
